Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS/DVS) System

Existing fiber can also be used! Continuous monitoring of long-distance sections over 50 km for 24 hours! Detects earthquakes, leaks, and other anomalies!

Our company's distributed acoustic vibration sensing system (DAS/DVS) is a system that captures vibrations received by installed optical fibers as acoustic energy. Essentially, it utilizes existing optical fiber networks (such as transportation and communication networks) to acquire data in real-time, effectively turning the network itself into a distributed acoustic sensor. In recent years, it has been used to detect minute vibrations caused by seismic waves, leaks or water seepage in factory piping, and various other abnormal sounds, as well as to pinpoint their locations. Our measurement devices are less susceptible to the effects of fading signals commonly observed in systems using other C-OTDR principles, thanks to our unique 2P squared technology. In the ultra-low frequency range, the phase difference method C-OTDR system can sensitively measure transient temperatures caused by the expansion and contraction of fibers due to temperature changes. This method is known as distributed temperature gradient sensing (DTGS) and is well-known in the oil and gas industry. We are conducting research to measure and utilize a wide variety of phenomena using this product in collaboration with various research institutes, universities, and companies in Japan.
